HOUSE CALLS
House Calls?! Really? Gone is the day when your family physician came to your home at all hours after receiving an urgent call. The population in our area is about 75% elderly, many of whom are frail folks who require additional help from family and friends. Some may have home health care but few have a clinician making periodic house calls to prevent an urgent need.
House Calls is not a replacement for home health or ambulance and EMT, but a preventive measure in conjunction with home health to avoid emergency rooms and hospitalization. If you are not already an established patient at the Clinic, Ms. Hensley will make a scheduled visit to your home for a new patient appointment. Thereafter, House Calls can be on a regular schedule just like an office appointment, or you can call for an appointment sooner. House Calls arranged by Ms. Hensley are covered by most Medicare plans and supplements. To qualify for coverage the patient must have difficulty leaving their home without additional assistance and seldom, if ever, drive in order to seek medical care. This is called "homebound" status.

With House Calls, Ms. Hensley will do a complete physical exam; continue or make any additional diagnosis; draw or order laboratory tests to be sent to the lab; and collect a urine specimen for testing on the spot, if indicated. New prescriptions and treatments can be prescribed and current medications refilled if needed.

This is all in consultation with you and what is best for you, all from the comfort of your own home. You, the patient, are the center of the care and decision making process, and family members are encouraged to be part of the process as well. Your regular doctor or specialist will receive a copy of the visit as you wish.

NOTE: House Calls is not for emergencies and is available only within the city limits of Coleman, Santa Anna, and Bangs.

If you are an established patient of our Clinic, you are already receiving these LabEa$y services. However, we are now providing our lab services at our significantly lower prices to all those in our area who may be under or uninsured. It is not necessary to be an established patient of this Clinic to use LabEa$y.
